Privacy and Security for Resident Data close window

Privacy Policy

While information is the cornerstone of our ability to provide superior service, our most important asset is our residents' trust. Keeping resident information secure, and using it only as our residents would want us to, is our top priority. Here then, is our promise to our individual residents:
  1. We will safeguard, according to strict standards of security and confidentiality, any information our residents share with us
  2. We will limit the collection and use of resident information to the minimum we require to deliver superior service to our residents, which includes advising our residents about our products, services and other opportunities, and to administer our business.
  3. We will permit only authorized employees, who are trained in the proper handling of customer information, to have access to that information. Employees who violate our Privacy Promise will be subject to our normal disciplinary process.
  4. We will not reveal customer information to any external organization unless we have previously informed the resident in disclosures or agreements, been authorized by the resident, or are required by law.
  5. We will always maintain control over the confidentiality of our resident information and not supply the information to marketing lists.
  6. Whenever we hire other organizations to provide support services, we will require them to conform to our policy standards and to allow us to audit them for compliance.
  7. For purposes of credit reporting, verification and risk management, we will exchange information about our residents with reputable reference sources and clearinghouse services.
  8. We will attempt to keep resident files complete, up to date, and accurate. We will tell our residents how and where to conveniently access their account information (except when we're prohibited by law), and how to notify us about errors which we will promptly correct.
  9. We will continuously assess ourselves to ensure that resident privacy is respected. We will conduct our business in a manner that fulfills our promise in the many nations in which we do business.
Data Security

Apply On-Line uses encryption for online security. Encryption technology helps provide secure transmission of information along the Internet by encoding the transmitted data using mathematical formula to scramble the data. Without a corresponding "decoder," the transmission would look like nonsense text and would be unusable.

Encryption technology can be used for a host of applications, including electronic commerce (sending credit card numbers for orders or transmitting account information), e-mail messages and sensitive documents.

Encryption is utilized with the transmission of data from one party to another. The sender encodes the data by scrambling it, then sends it on. The receiver must decode the data with the correct "decoder" in order to read and use it.The effectiveness (or level of security) for encryption is measured in terms of how long the key is - the longer the key, the longer it would take for someone without the correct "decoder" to break the code. The length of the key is measured in bits (e.g., 40-bit encryption, the level of encryption used with many ordinary browsers, versus 128-bit encryption, the level of encryption required to use Apply On-Line).

The computers (aka servers) that run Apply On-Line are protected by firewalls - systems that prevent unauthorized access to our network and which are monitored to prevent security breaches.

Your Apply On-Line Session will automatically end - or "timeout" - if you do not perform any transaction for 10 minutes. To resume your application you will need to start again from the beginning.
